As Pride Month concludes, we look back on efforts made by organizations in our area to support and uplift LGBTQ+ communities. This year, we wanted to emphasize Habitat Wake's dedication to being an inclusive organization and supporting affordable housing for people of all backgrounds. From volunteer build days to community outreach and networking events, this has been a Pride Month to remember!
During the week of June 13-20, Habitat Wake partnered with builders from around Wake and Johnston counties to bring homes from frame to finish for four local families in just seven days through Home Builders Blitz!
🏡✨ 22 years ago, Home Builder's Blitz was born right here in Wake County. What started as a local initiative quickly ignited into a national movement, fueled by the passion of our community's builders. We recently had the honor of sitting down with the visionary behind it all, our very own Tom Gipson. We couldn't help but reminisce about all the countless memories and lives touched by the Blitz over the years.

This past weekend, CEOs and top executives from across the Triangle joined forces to build three Habitat homes for partner families in Durham, Orange and Wake counties! The 2024 CEO Build, hosted in Habitat Orange's Weavers Grove neighborhood in Chapel Hill, marked a triumphant return after its last event in 2019.
As Easter arrives, it serves as a poignant reminder of renewal, hope, and the transformative power of love. At Habitat for Humanity, we embody these principles every day as we strive to alleviate the immense affordable housing shortage in Wake County and Johnston counties and make affordable homeownership a reality with families. As valued partners, your dedication and passion are instrumental in driving this mission forward, and we are immensely grateful for your ongoing support.
Last Friday, donors, volunteers and homebuyers came together for our annual Habitat for Humanity Women Build. This event kicked off 12 week-long celebration of women and allies joining together to build a Habitat home.
Since 2009, this event has provided the opportunity for women and supporters to take a proactive step in serving their community by funding and constructing an affordable Habitat home.

At Habitat Wake, our mission is to build homes, communities and hope. Going beyond the bricks and mortar, we partner with homebuyers to build not just homes, but also a sense of stability and belonging—or, as Habitat homeowner Keena puts it, a feeling of “better.”
