2014 Builders Blitz: June 6 to 13

June 9, 2014

About Builders Blitz

Builders Blitz began in 2002 when local custom home builder and visionary Tom Gipson recruited 12 builders to construct one house each in a five-day period. He asked the builders to donate the labor, secure the assistance of subcontractors, and seek donations of the needed materials, from frame to finish. The results were astounding: Twelve homes were completed in five days at a total cost to Habitat (not including land) of $84,000. In addition to the donated labor and materials the builders raised $100,000 in cash donations. The 2014 Blitz took place June 6-13. Four homes were constructed in Raleigh's Maybrook neighborhood.
