We have an indeed had a blessed year! Our fiscal year ends at June 30 and we will have served 119 families this year. We had planned to serve 102 families, so here’s to the 17 additional families we were able to serve thanks to a faithful God, a super generous community, very committed volunteers, and to diligent work from a talented staff team!
We dedicated 4 homes this past Friday in our annual Home Builders Blitz effort as we watched three local builders—Savvy Homes, Wade Jurney Homes, and Robuck Homes—along with our own staff and volunteers construct 4 homes in one week in partnership with the Nyaoro/Opiyo, Mbugua, Steward, and Best families.
We followed that up with two dedications on Saturday morning with our long-time church partners White Memorial Presbyterian, 1st Presbyterian, Christ Episcopal Church, and St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and their partnership with the Becton and Harvey families respectively.
We concluded this frenzy of house dedications on Wednesday celebrating our partnership with corporate partners Wells Fargo, Cisco, FMI, and Bob Barker and their partnership with the Makema/Maseka family.
The excitement is definitely building at Habitat Wake!
