We're in this, together.

* Please note, in keeping with local regulations, as of Friday, February 25th, our Wake County build sites and ReStores will not require masks indoors. Habitat Wake will adhere to whatever local ordinances are in place, so our ReStores in Durham and Orange counties may have different requirements. Our vaccine requirement for volunteers remains the same.

From the beginning of the pandemic, we have operated with the utmost precaution to protect our staff, volunteers, homeowners and partners, and it turns out we aren’t out of the woods, yet. While this a tough time for everyone, we are choosing to link arms. We’re standing with other Habitat organizations across the state, partners like Advance Community Health and medical professionals who are leading the way. We’ve gotten this far together, and we will get to the other side of this, together.

  • In the spirit of being a good neighbor and protecting our staff, homeowners and volunteers, we are requiring anyone who volunteers or contracts with us on site or in our ReStores to be vaccinated as of August 23rd.

  • Anyone who is registered to volunteer with us on or after Monday, August 23rd will be asked to re-register and attest to being vaccinated.

Why we are taking these steps:

The Delta variant of the COVID-19 variant is causing cases to rapidly rise in our community.  For example, on July 11th, 451 North Carolinians were in the hospital being treated for COVID-19. As of the week of August 8, there are more than 2,300.

This requirement is part of our ongoing COVID-19 response that prioritizes the health and safety of our staff, homeowners, volunteers and partners.  The effort is bigger than Habitat Wake: this is a public health crisis that is disproportionately affecting the communities we serve.

Our Habitat staff will also be available to answer your questions between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.! We are currently only taking walk-ins for those dropping off applications and program payments.

You may reach us by emailing communications@habitatwake.org or by calling 919-833-1999.
