Want your very own Habitat license plate? North Carolina drivers will soon be able to show their pride as a Habitat volunteer, donor or advocate with a custom Habitat for Humanity license plate!
The state requires 500 registrations in order to print the first run of custom plates. Habitat will cover the initial fee for the first 500 North Carolina drivers who sign up for a custom Habitat for Humanity license plate. After the first 500 submissions, plates will still be available for $30 each.
Update February 2024
We are well on our way to getting the 500 registrations necessary to apply for the custom license plate through the state legislature. While we didn’t make our first deadline of February 15, 2024, we will continue to gather registrations ahead of the next deadline (February 15, 2025) until we hit the 500 mark.
Already applied for one of the first 500 license plates? Thank you for your support! There's nothing you need to do. We’ll hold your application and be in touch via email with any updates.
Interested in a Habitat license plate but haven’t applied yet? You now have more time! But it’s still a good idea to get your application in sooner rather than later – Habitat will only cover the fees for the first 500 applications we receive. After that, the custom plates will cost $30.
