Week of Action: March 23–27, 2026
Municipalities across Wake County are currently negotiating their FY27 Budgets, and we need your help to ensure they provide level funding to support programs that increase and preserve affordable housing.
On the week of March 23rd we are hosting a Week of Action, where we are asking Habitat supporters to call or email their local elected officials and ask them to keep level funding for affordable housing initiatives in their local budgets. Each day will be focused on calling and emailing different priority municipalities.

Call your Members of Congress: Support bipartisan action on housing!
Congress is considering an historic housing package that includes many bipartisan proposals to address housing affordability. The Senate’s version, the ROAD to Housing Act, was passed on Oct 9 as an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The House of Representatives also advanced its version of similar housing legislation, the Housing for the 21st Century Act.
Congress must keep this momentum going, work to combine these two bills, and pass a bipartisan housing package that will take meaningful action to help address our nation’s housing crisis as soon as possible. There is no time to wait — leave your legislators a quick message urging them to work together to move forward these two bills and pass a final package as soon as possible.

I'm calling to ask [ELECTED OFFICIAL NAME] to support policies that increase the supply of affordable homes and improve the effectiveness of existing programs. I would like to see Congress work together to combine the ROAD to Housing Act and the Housing for the 21st Century Act. I urge you to include the HOME Reform Act and the Whole Home Repairs Act in the final package and pass it as soon as possible. Thank you.
