We need your help to ensure Congress provides robust funding for programs that are critical to Habitat’s efforts to expand affordable homeownership opportunities nationwide. The Trump administration proposes to eliminate several of Habitat’s key programs including HOME, USDA 502, CDFI grant funding and AmeriCorps – but Congress ultimately decides funding levels for all federal programs.
Congress has begun negotiations for the new federal budget, and it’s more important than ever that members of Congress hear from you about these essential programs. There is no time to wait — leave your policymakers a quick message now asking them to provide robust funding for Habitat’s priority programs in Fiscal Year 2026.
Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [YOUR CITY] and a Habitat for Humanity supporter. I'm calling to ask [ELECTED OFFICIAL NAME] to provide robust funding for affordable housing programs in the federal budget. There is a historic low supply of housing across the country, and housing costs are rising. We need Congress to protect critical housing programs, like the HOME Investment Partnerships Program and the Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program. I urge Congress to support Habitat’s funding priorities by increasing or maintaining level funding for housing programs. Thank you.
