Get Collection Bins & Start a Cans for Habitat Program
Here's the gist to set up a Cans for Habitat program: Contact Habitat and say you're interested. Habitat will provide the cardboard collection bins, posters, and educational fun facts about recycling. Collect cans at home, at school, at recreation clubs -- get creative. To increase your collection, ask a business, your school, family members, youth group, club, or faith group to contribute their aluminum cans to Habitat.
The Cans for Habitat program runs all year. As cans are recycled, Wise Recycling contributes cash to Habitat that is used to support the Habitat homeownership program. This flyer explains how it works:
To get started, youth or youth leaders may contact Natalie Vestal at 833-1999 x230 or Natalie.Vestal@habitatwake.org. (Check out our other service programs for youth.)
