How Can Your Company Sponsor a Habitat Home?
Transforming Lives and Communities
Habitat homeowners achieve long-term improved wealth and well being through the unique partnership opportunities that Habitat provides. To qualify for a Habitat home:
- Future homeowners must have a compelling need for housing and a strong willingness to partner with Habitat.
- Habitat does not give houses away – all homeowners must invest a minimum of 250 “sweat equity” hours on their house or other Habitat houses.
- Homeowners pay a $1,250 down payment and qualify for a zero-percent interest mortgage. Mortgage payments help Habitat build more homes for people in need.
By promoting community partnerships, self-sufficiency, and homeownership, Habitat for Humanity has built more than 260 homes in Wake County and more than 200,000 homes around the world for people in need of safe, decent, affordable housing. Our goal in Wake County is to build our 300th house in 2006.
Building a Habitat Home Helps Build a Healthy Company
- Employees get the satisfaction of directly changing the lives of people in need
- Employees pull together as a team to help each other reach a common goal.
- Your company gets positive exposure in the community.
- You build a tangible asset that will benefit the community for years to come.

Find the Right Level of Participation For Your Company
- Companies of all sizes can participate.
- 100% of your donation goes to the direct costs of building the sponsored home.
- If your firm cannot sponsor an entire house, we encourage you to consider inviting your clients, colleagues, and others to partner with you. Habitat can assist you in finding sponsor partners, if necessary. Corporations, churches, civic organizations, and individual donors frequently work together to sponsor houses.
- Volunteer support is optional. We will work with you to find the level of volunteer support for your sponsorship that works best for you.
