Donation Criteria
The ReStore accepts donations of good, usable, residential building materials. All donations are tax-deductible.
Donations via delivery, pick-up or DeCon services are accepted from households and businesses located throughout all of Wake County and its 12 municipalities including Apex, Cary, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Holly Springs, Knightdale, Morrisville, Raleigh, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon.

order with no repairs needed

- washers/dryers
- ovens (drop-in or free standing)
- water heaters
- refrigerators

- ARCHITECTURAL ITEMS
- columns, antique windows, mantelpieces, hardware, etc.
- CABINETS
- individual pieces or full cabinet sets in stable condition (kitchen or bathroom) that have all doors and drawers attached
- Countertops with straight sections -- no holes cut
- DOORS (residential only)
- pre-hung or door slabs door slabs cannot be taller than 84 in.
- exterior or interior no rot, cracks or missing panes
- entryway units
- storm doors must have all tracking, no cracked or foggy glass.
- sorry, no storms doors -- even with screens, all tracking and framing
- ELECTRICAL
- residential electrical items only. No large donations of miscellaneous electrical stock, or commercial items.
- FLOORING
- carpet 10 ft. x 10 ft. or larger, in good to excellent condition with no visible wear or tear, no stains, and no animal smells.
- carpet padding any size, with no animal stains or smells.
- hardwood/parquet flooring minimum of 25 sq. ft., without splits or cracks.
- vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, linoleum any quantity of new material
- creamic tile
- FURNITURE
- Hardwood furniture in good condition
- File cabinets, dressers, book cases, tables, chairs
- Sorry, no office or upholstered furniture
- HARDWARE
- complete sets of door hardware, hinges, etc. any quantity of nails, screws, hangers, connectors, etc.
- Full boxes of nails and screws
- LUMBER
- dimensional 6 ft. lengths or longer of treated or non-treated.
- sheet goods 1/2 sheets or larger of particle board, pressboard, plywood, paneling, etc.
- trim and moulding 5 ft. lengths or longer
- Sorry, no scrap lumber, no nails, no concrete on wood
- LIGHTING
- interior, exterior, and ceiling fans
- good to excellent, complete, and in working order. We DO NOT
ACCEPT fluorescent light fixtures or tracked or recessed lights.
- MISCELLANEOUS
- new wallpaper
- usable shutters (interior and exterior)
- HVAC units/AC units, 5 years old or less and in good working condition
- handtools and power tools in good working condition
- free-standing wood stoves
- shutters
- PAINT
- quarts, gallons, and five gallons only. full, unopened, non-rusted cans of latex paint only. We do not accept paint in winter.
- PHONES
- ReStore is now accepting donations of mobile phones
and phone accessories! Any model, any carrier, any condition!
Donations can be dropped off at the register.

- sinks all types of kitchen and bathroom sinks, including stainless steel (no rust).
- bathtubs fiberglass, cast iron, steel. When space permits
- shower enclosures white enclosures only, with all components.
- faucets complete working faucet sets only
- miscellaneous plumbing hardware fittings, piping, etc.
- toilets must have lids, no cracks or chips
- STORM WINDOWS AND DOORS
- with all windows and screens, and all tracking or framing.
- WINDOWS
- double-hung, picture, bay complete window units with all sashes. No rot, no cracked or foggy glass.
- window sashes, casements, louvered CASE-BY-CASE basis only
- sorry, no storms windows -- even with screens, all tracking and framing
