Atlantic Business Technologies, Inc. recently launched a newly enhanced Web site for Habitat for Humanity of Wake County. Atlantic BT designed and created the new site primarily as a gift in kind.
Jon Jordan, president of Atlantic BT, has a family history with Habitat for Humanity dating back to its origins more than 40 years ago. His grandfather, Clarence Jordan, was the co-founder of Funds for Humanity which later became Habitat for Humanity International. The first houses built under the unique sweat-equity “partnership” concept that Jordan helped develop were built near Americus, Georgia. The land was provided by the Christian community, Koinonia, also co-founded by Clarence Jordan.
“When we received Habitat Wake’s Web form requesting a quote, I think it took me a total of three minutes to respond. I was thrilled at the opportunity to work for such a great organization that supports the local community as well as honors the special connection through my grandfather. We are very proud of the result and feel it reflects Habitat as an organization for and about people, just as Atlantic BT is,” Jordan said. “We recognize that Habitat Wake has a lot to gain by having a strong, interactive Web presence,” he continued. “We feel the site reflects the dynamic personality of the organization and the positive change it creates in the community. We are excited to offer our expertise to further Habitat’s mission in Wake County.”
Atlantic BT’s team also volunteered a Saturday to work on the construction site. Check out this short video about their experience.
