Chiquito
Last year, Chiquito became Habitat Wake's 350th homebuyer partner. Her downtown Raleigh home was Habitat Wake's first green certified house. As a child, Chiquito lived with her mom and grandmother right around the corner in historic Oakwood. "Owning a home downtown is a dream for me," she says. Now, Chiquito can build a life with her own children in the neighborhood she once called home.
Chiquito has worked for four years with the N.C. Department of Revenue. She completed her associate's degree in Accounting before applying to Habitat and is working toward an advanced degree. "I know this is a fantastic opportunity," says Chiquito. "I'm going to live in this house forever."
