"Helping someone have a safe place and meeting the children and the family - it makes me feel good. I have taken so much from others - this is an opportunity to give back. It's a blessing." -Penny, volunteer

Habitat Wake Weather Line: 919.833.1999, x240

Volunteering on the work site is a fun, hands-on opportunity for individuals and groups to build homes alongside future Habitat homeowners. No experience required! Construction volunteers do carpentry, roofing, siding, interior trim, painting, and landscaping. New volunteers receive coaching from more experienced volunteers and from staff.
You can also volunteer with our DeConstruction team to strip kitchen cabinets and salvage other materials for sale in our ReStore. To sign up for Construction or DeConstruction work or find information about this week's schedule, use our volunteer sign up page. To register a group for the first time, please contact us first.
Please keep in mind that we often have a waiting list.
Be patient and plan ahead so we can get you on the schedule.
If you would like to fulfill court-ordered or lawyer-recommended community service hours at Habitat Wake, you must do so at our ReStore. Please report to the ReStore for information and training on Tuesday or Saturday mornings at 10am. No registration is required.
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old to work on a Construction or DeCon site. For youth ages 16 and 17, we require a signed consent form.
There are other ways for young people to support Habitat - check out some resources from Habitat International and from Kids Connect NC.
