Community Service Hours
Court-ordered or lawyer-recommended Community Service
If you would like to fulfill court-ordered or lawyer-recommended community service hours at Habitat Wake, you must do so at our Raleigh ReStore. Construction and Deconstruction volunteer opportunities DO NOT QUALIFY for court-ordered or lawyer-recommended community-service hours.
We hold an orientation session for our community service volunteers (or anyone who needs to have their volunteer hours documented) every Tuesday and Saturday at 10:00 a.m. sharp. The orientation lasts 20-30 minutes. Please bring documentation stating what your offense is - certain offenders we will not accept for community service. You will not be able to start the day you do orientation but you will be able to work any following business day after. We are open M-F 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. and Sat 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Restrictions:
- You must be 18+
- NO convictions for sex or other violent crimes
- MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY - you must work a minimum shift of three hours starting anytime before 3 PM.
- SATURDAY – you must work a 4 hour shift starting at either 8 AM or 12 PM. You can work both shifts if you choose. If you arrive at any other time you will be turned away.
School-required or recommended Community Service
School-required or recommended community service hours may be completed at the Raleigh ReStore, or at any of our Construction or Deconstruction volunteer sites. Volunteers at the Raleigh ReStore must be at least 18 years old.
