Directly Benefit Local Families
Cars for Homes™ distributes the funds raised from the sale of your car donation - less applicable processing fees (approximately 15-20%) - directly to Habitat Wake. This allows your donation to impact our local homeownership efforts.
Cars for Homes™ program costs are kept as low as possible and donated vehicles are sold through a national network of diverse venues to maximize revenues for local Habitat for Humanity affiliates. Receive possible tax benefits for your generosity
Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Habitat for Humanity International is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization. If you itemize deductions on your income tax return, it may be possible to claim a deduction for your car donation. In general, donors who itemize their taxes may deduct the fair market value of any donated car up to $499. If your vehicle sells for more than $500, you may deduct the full selling price. You will receive the appropriate receipt from Habitat for Humanity for your car donation.
