Make a Planned Gift
Habitat of Wake County has worked in partnership with thousands of volunteers, sponsors and hardworking families to build decent, affordable houses for 20 years. As the need for affordable homes continues to grow, so does the need to plan for future partnerships. You can help meet this need. By putting Habitat for Humanity of Wake County into your will (or a codicil to your will), life insurance or 401K Plan, you can help ensure that future applicant families have homes while at the same time you gain favorable tax advantages.
If you prefer to see your donation change lives during your lifetime, there are many gift options in addition to cash that allow you to increase the size of your gift without depleting your overall assets and might also provide tax advantages. Donating appreciated assets, such as stocks, bonds, real estate, trusts and land, could reduce annual income taxes and capital gains taxes. The following article explains how planned giving is a simple technique that can enable anyone to increase the impact of their support for Habitat and receive tax benefits at the same time. To discuss how your gift could impact the lives of people here in Wake County, please contact Debbi Fox-Davis, Habitat Wake's Major Gifts Officer, at 919.833.1999 x246 or debbi.fox-davis@habitatwake.org with questions.
