Building Materials
The Habitat ReStore accepts donations of new and used building materials in good, usable condition. All proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity of Wake County and help divert construction and demolition waste away from local landfills. Please review the donation criteria ReStore Donation Page or call 833.6768.
Needed items include: appliances, cabinets, residential doors, residential electrical items, flooring, tile, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, lighting fixtures, plumbing fixtures, lumber, windows, hand tools and power tools, HVAC Units, hardware, blinds, drywall (1/2 sheet or larger), wallpaper, countertops, millwork and building supply materials. No paint is collected during winter months.
Deconstruction Materials
Habitat's Deconstruction staff and volunteers remove salvageable building materials from remodeling projects and from homes slated for demolition. If you or someone you know is renovating a kitchen or bath or demolishing a home in Wake County and would like for our Decon Crew to strip out the good and usable materials for a tax deduction, please send an email to decon@habitatwake.org. All proceeds of the Deconstruction program support the building of new Habitat homes and you can save on tipping fees at the landfill!
Construction Materials
If you would like to donate materials towards the construction of Habitat Wake’s houses, please contact Chuck Dopler, construction manager, at 919.833.1999 x228 or chuck.dopler@habitatwake.org. We're always in need of construction tools including table saws, circular saws, miter saws, cordless saws, cordless drills, top-grade extension ladders, electric or gas shingle lifts, portable heaters, caulk & caulk holders, gloves, safety glasses, tape measures, utility knives & levels. Landscaping tools including rototillers, shovels, rakes, hoes, water hoses & lawnmowers are always helpful on site, too!
